Vaccinate All the Bees

A few years ago, bell-bottom jeans (and other pants) became super popular. I refused to comply because it just seemed like a fad. Sadly, the trend — though weakened — lives still. Though not quite the same, this whole mRNA vaccine just won’t go away. Now our government plans to vaccinate honeybees. You know, the creatures on whom approximately one-third of the food Americans eat relies upon — you know, because it comes from crops pollenated by honeybees, according to fda.gov.
The vaccinate everything trend has gone too far
According to a New York Times article titled USDA Approves First Vaccine for Honeybees, a company called Dalan Animal Health has created a vaccine to combat an aggressive bacterial disease, which affects bees, called American foulbrood. Reportedly, the disease can spread rapidly from hive to hive, potentially decimating the bee population. Check it out — this is an actual quote from the article:
“There are millions of beehives all over the world, and they don’t have a good health care system compared to other animals,” she said [Dalail Freitak, Associate Professor in honeybee research at Karl-Franzens University in Austria].
Not surprisingly, Freitak says that in the past, we treated the disease, caused by a gram-positive spore-forming bacterium, with antibiotics or by burning the affected colonies. The vaccine will be administered via “royal jelly fed by the worker bees to the queen.” Apparently, after the queen ingests it and some of the vaccine collects in the ovaries, this supposedly makes bee larvae immune with no adverse issues popping up because of it.
Hmmm…where have we heard that before?
The vaccine also has ‘conditional approval’ by the USDA. Kind of like another vaccine on the market for humans, which holds an Emergency Use Authorization. Curious, indeed.
Sounds dangerous to me and seems like it could ‘accidentally’ lead to a catastrophic depopulation event. My question is how are the so-called ‘elite’ going to live once they’ve killed off most of us, decimated the bee population, darkened the sun, et cetera?

The bee and its colony, from the molecular level to the level of social behavior, is staggeringly complex. Such hubris is most disconcerting.
