Will there be a way to buy fruits and vegetables without this plastic coating that can't be washed off? Yikes.
We live in urban Toronto with a tiny backyard; for the last few years, we grew only tomatoes. This year, we will add zucchini and lettuce. I love growing my own food, though the seeds are probably GMO. Are there places to buy certified non GMO seeds. I would be willing to pay a premium, even though I live in Toronto, Canada.
Yes! Mary Alice is the absolute BOMB! She’s keeping a lexicon of various terms people here on Substack have coined. I wanted to tag her when writing the post but could not (for the life of me) remember the name of her stack.
It has just come to me: Through the Looking Glass (at least I’m pretty sure).
Yes! That’s the article in which I read the term. Funnily, I see that term in MANY Substacks that I read on a daily basis, as well as terms coined by others and listed in her ongoing lexicon.
Memo to BGates: Nobody asked you for a food coating that can't be washed off. And nobody asked you or anyone else for an experimental injection that destroys their immune system. Why not bug off and go back to computer-coding. Oh, and by the way, people are not programmable. It might take some folks a while to re-discover that, but they will. So take your food coatings and put them where the sun don't shine.
Yes, former whiz-kid turns into megalomaniac money-grubbing meddler, now seeking to monopolize world health and nullify national sovereignty through his WHO subsidiary.
Yes, I keep telling them to leave me the hell alone. Someone said the other day it was Baal gHates. Apt description. There is a farmer's market in Weiser that is starting to thrive. Very happy about that.
Aren’t farmers’ markets just the best, Sadie?! There’s one a couple of miles from us. In fact, I’m planning on buying a booth there to sell my chicken eggs! And there are a couple more a little farther away, but not too far. There’s also a small grocery store about 8 miles away that sells produce from small local farmers. They sell the regular stuff too, but it’s lovely that they support local sources as well.
....Samantha someone kindly remarked to me that i need to eat more seeds, but added that at least i'm nuts already so i've saved a fortune in that respect!...adopting this logic theres perhaps more than a grain of truth in the old bromide 'you are what u eat'...then again down our way someone who strove to disallow their happiness or contentment until they had acquired at any cost (usually (in) human)much more than their necessary share of the world's goods used to be identified as 'a hungry ###..' ...they were cussed in that they they were regarded as anomalous entities!
...indeed!...btw Matthew Ehret has a couple of very good articles the last couple days, the links are well worth the click...lovely place u have by the looks of it...God bless it and u and family!...
Matthew Ehret is AMAZING! Also his beautiful brilliant wife, Cynthia. I haven’t read Matt lately because I’ve been reading and listening to Cynthia. I’ll check out Matt’s latest this afternoon after I finish my client work and homekeeping duties! 😘

Yes! I don’t understand all the hype, Yuri. Something very fishy about it. And thank you about the food. It’s kind of a dress rehearsal for doing it on a much larger scale in Idaho.
Haha you’re right Lawdog! Speaking of carnivores, I could totally make that switch, but DS (while he’s quite the meat eater himself) just can’t quite bring himself to give up everything else (yet 😉). Cooking dinners are my job, so I make them healthy and delicious with meat and vegetables everyday (except Fridays -- we fast on Fridays and have fish at dinner).
Right. It’s actually every Friday and Wednesday, but on Wednesday evening we break our fast with meat. And definitely not only during Lent. Lenten fasting is much more rigorous in that we do some measure of fasting from certain foods the entire time -- no alcohol, no bread (which we don’t eat anyway unless it’s grain free), and other staples. But even in Lent Wednesdays are what we call hard fasts and Fridays are black fasts (nothing at all except water). We’re traditional Catholics. You know...the ones the FBI is watching closely bc we might be terrorists and rosary beads are a sign of extremism 🙄😂🙄
Great advice Justin! When we started back in 2010, we grew only butternut squash simply because someone gave us seeds from THEIR garden. Now it has expanded to quite a production. We grow seasonal vegetables each season (of course) and over 23 varieties of herbs -- plus chickens and ducks! You’re right, the key is start small and don’t let failures discourage you.
We have a very large kitchen, but since we grow much of our produce and get our meats from a locally sourced ranch, I only go to the supermarket about 3 or 4 times a week for incidentals and things like paper goods, etc.

Thanks for your article.
Love seeing the use of the Margaret Anna Alice -coined term "philanthropath!"
Ok see? I called her the name of a college friend of mine: Mary Alice...so I even got that wrong! Fridays are blonde days! <wink>

I'm not even sure that he was that great a programmer, either. He just used other people's work to get rich. He's an excellent monopolist, though....
That’s what I’ve heard too, Ann.

Oh Peter! If only we could get such a memo to that pest of a man!

LOL. I knew you were dangerous.
Haha! Well then...
...go on Samantha, enjoy ur day....!!!....
Same to you, sweet Gerry!
This magic coating sounds as though they have invented a use for their waste by product.
Haha it surely does indeed, David!

Haha Gerry -- so are you eating more seeds even though you’ve got the nutty part covered? 😉
Yes we are, in a way, what we eat!

Oh and thank you for your kind words, Gerry. They make my heart sing!

Thanks Pandelis!
Apeel is sketchy, reminds me of theranos with all the hype. Congrats on growing your own food!

They have figured out a way to turn organic produce into processed food. Ouch!
Luckily, I'm a carnivore. Plant free me, I'm safe from all this. Grass fed beef!

Fasting is so underrated. I just started a fast yesterday. So far, so good. Every Friday is impressive, not just during Lent.

Hahahaha WORTH it! I would have added that to my post had I known about it.

Oh yes.
I want to live like the rest of the world. NOT
I think that's probably why millions, er billions want to leave "the rest of the world".
And he DOES need to go away.
