I was surprised to find that every single variety and box of cereal in the grocery store contained GMOs. I finally found the bags of Malt-O-Meal that didn't have the notice, and some Cocoa Puffs at Aldi that weren't labeled. I love cereal, and I ate Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds for years thinking it was fairly healthy, until one day, I saw it on there. I've started making my own cereal! haha I just use oats, honey, pecans, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins, and whatever kind of fruit I might want to throw in there, and bake it for a few minutes. It's better to take it up from the baking sheet before it cools completely to store in slicky holiday type cookie bags, and not bake it too long because the raisins will be like puffs of ash. lol Blueberries would be nice in it, apples, or peaches too. Your passionfruit flower is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing, it's such an unusual bloom. God is good.

Yeah re: cheese, was disappointed to discover that my favorite cheddar brand uses "enzymes" and brags about containing "no animal rennet". Didn't used to be that way but I hadn't looked at the ingredients in years because I habitually trusted them.

But you can't import cheddar. European cheese in general is great, but they don't know anything about cheddar.

What amazes me is sugar.

They put sugar in almost *everything* that's sold in restaurants, especially foods that you wouldn't imagine "need" sugar for flavoring -- like steaks.

Sugar is the #1 reason that there are so many overweight people in the US. Snacking all day on sugary foods, keeps insulin levels high throughout the day, which causes insulin resistance, which then results in type-2 diabetes. Rinse and repeat.

Even more amazing is the number of "sugar free" alternatives -- that also cause people's insulin levels to spike.

The constant addition of sugar, while simultaneously stating that too much of the population is overweight, is maddening.

In New York City, they tried to limit people's access to sugary drinks (which "sounds like" they're trying) -- but ignored ALL of the other food that has sugar, that never used to until more recently. Always some slight of hand at play. 😑

Now they're pushing bugs instead of beef. Why? Because it's another market that can be cornered, and I guarantee that there's some long-term side effect of eating insect protein that is *known* but will not be revealed. Kind of like all of those "safe and effective" vaccines.

Think of all the people who still eat regularly from restaurants, not just fast food outlets. I have never in 60 years been in a restaurant that serves only non GMO dishes on their menu and doubt they can even profitably source all organic ingredients.

Yeah, read about the cheese. Bought some fresh Liuzzi Bocconcini, and it is labeled with having 'vegetable' rennet. Arrrgh. I am becoming stricter with my rule that if man has touched it, he has altered it for the worse. Starting to boot the ultra pasteurized heavy cream down the road that I use in my coffee as well. Easier to eat healthy here in Florida, but way more expensive. Headed back to Idaho and am going to have to get creative because I live in the sticks. There is a wonderful store here in FL called Detweilers. And I also like Sprouts. There is a store in Boise called The Co-op, and it is good, but 2 hours from my house. And...as far as planting, I could plant, but then the locusts and grasshoppers arrive.

I recently learned that Fpizer has ruined 90% of the cheese in this country and you just confirmed it. I guess I'll buy Kerrygold cheese for now just like I buy their butter. It just gets more and more difficult.

I am from Russia so I often shop in ethnic stores selling Russian made foods. Russia bans all GMO so those are free of GMO's.
