I feel as if my calling here is to write things that may help others see a transcendent aspect to all of this grief and evil around us (and I’m not even certain I do a good job at that).
But I am GRATEFUL for my subscribers who add to the conversation in ways that I can’t.
So a couple things — I’m not all that convinced mosquitos are the wonderful delivery mechanism they’re cracked up to be. For one thing you have to load them — looking at the inflated hysteria over West Nile or Zika in North America, I’m thinking that capability is mostly vaporware. What might be more… interesting… is the mosquito mitigation sprayer trucks outfitted with infectious clones…
Also not sure it makes sense to get too excited about the 48kyr viruses. After all we’re descended from the folks who survived it… Look more at what it’d be used to justify…
Interesting take, Dr. Flurm. I defer to your assumption that this might not work and thank God of you’re right. But, why is Gates, then, financing these studies? He wouldn’t do that if he thought it was futile. Your idea about the sprayers is interesting. Please tell me more.
Well I’m certainly no expert, but relying on a bunch of mosquitos which would be perfectly happy injecting any/every other warm blooded critter in an area, and competing with the natives… Smells like grant bait vaporware to me more than anything. Having been occasionally afflicted with his products over the years, not all that convinced Gates has all that much going for him upstairs either. He’s got money though, so threshold to fund things is low.
So don’t know about where you are, but in my neighborhood each summer we hear the hum from a mosquito sprayer truck every few evenings, which I cannot believe ever does anything useful to stop actual mosquitos. Its like having your kids run around in the back yard spraying cans of raid in the air. And likely just as healthy. But after learning about JJC’s infectious clones hypothesis, those seem a great way to deploy such a thing. Much better than mosquitos I’d think.
Haha Dr. Flurm this is a breath of fresh air. Perhaps you’re correct. We have spraying trucks here too; usually in the summer months. That’s an extremely interesting theory.
And regarding Gates’ money, you are correct as well. It’s like my husband & I paying $5 for a chocolate bar to help fund our daughter’s gymnastics coaching back in the day.
You’re right! How did I forget that? Being a transcendental, hope can save us. And absolutely, we MUST run tribunals and people must not be weak about executions. This bothers me so much. The death penalty is actually a mercy to those who have earned it. Hope first. Yes, thank you!
I understand what you’re saying, but I’ve always believed in the good that can come from capital punishment, but I read a book that confirmed that even more.
Sure, there are mistakes, most of which, I think (no real proof of this) come about due to the authorities or out of sheer laziness/apathy.
Either way, it’s clear...there is provable, as you said, prima facie evidence. These people -- even if they repent, want to make restitution, etc. -- must hang.

I absolutely agree. There is primal evil involved in this, which makes me concerned that this (already hard thing) will continue much longer.
