I never knew the history of this so-called holiday. In fact I never paid attention to the day at all! But, in my Catholic college days, we used to say we were “feminine-ists” -fighting for the right to be truly feminine! :)
I only discovered the history about 3 years ago and I was appalled. That said, the entire premise of this special “day” has always rubbed me the wrong way. EVERYTHING I have is because strong men sacrificed and died.
Well said. I have had the same regarding our decision for me to stay home and raise our kids. We have no regrets. It was a team effort and we killed it. I do not want to be like 'those women'. Ever. I will never lower myself to their level. It is all so twisted to think about the warped image to which they are elevating themselves... and then the HeShes join in and they are all for it. So, what does make them so special? Nyet. Thanks for the history dust off regarding it...And, isn't celebrating International Women's Day sexist?? We would hate to be politically incorrect.
Haha yes it IS sexist, Sadie. I figured you experienced many snide remarks and sideways comments just like me. You’re right. It’s a team effort and it is SO beautiful and worth it.
They ruin everything they touch. Whether this is deliberate, I’m not sure. I suspect it’s a combination of both deliberate destruction and incidental rot and ruin occurring as a result of their poverty of logic and disdain for anything sacred.
You are right about this and also correct in pointing out that EVERYONE and, subsequently, EVERYTHING because institutions, et al, are created and run by men. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to build and continue to root out corruption. I think our biggest roadblock at this point is that we have allowed the rot, corruption, and abject distortion of all that is true, good, and beautiful to carry on and grow into a behemoth before ever really noticing the magnitude of its spread.
Thx for the enlightenment.
Look forward to reading more.
Thanks so much, David! I appreciate your kind words.

Hi- Quick typo/context correction: "Clara Zetkin, wanted to (?) establish observance of the day in her country."
Okie home now! Heading to fix it. Thank you SO much! 😘
Anytime ! :)
Girl! XO
Good article! :)
Thanks, darling! 😘
It should say “to,” yes. I’m out and about and won’t be able to fix it until later.

My pleasure!
