Side note:

I used to volunteer on the Irvine Ranch in Southern California, where they have avocado orchards that are easily 25-30 years old = prime production years for these trees. the crows and other wildlife in that area have the most incredible plumage; It's like iridescent in the sunshine because of the avocados that they gorge themselves on. These fruits are easily mango sized with small pits. Heaven if you like straight-up guacamole that's not watered down with tomatoes and onions

Back to work for me! I will read more of your material 👌🏽

I love avocados prepared all kinds of ways. Avocados are a fairly common crop in south Texas (about 6 hours drive south of where I live) and the best ones are huge, probably similar to the ones you experienced in Cali. Of course, citrus crops are wildly popular down there and we enjoy getting fresh grapefruit, oranges, clementine, and more down there when we visit my sister’s family.

I look forward to your comments on some of my other pieces, Joseph. It has been a pleasure chatting today! 💗

So Thursdays and Saturdays the mussels can reproduce by the millions! Enjoy

The only sad part of this is when I go to Costco I see these muscles in broth that are the size of an almond when you can easily get mussels that are the size of avocados in New Zealand and Aus

Wow! I’ve never seen them THAT huge. The biggest I’ve seen are about the size of a lime, but they’re nice and fresh.

I read somewhere that the most nutritious and sustainable food for those who live near bodies of water: bivalves

Yup, mussels, oysters and clams, all farmed to oblivion since they can filter much (all?) of the nastiness that DuPont can dump into the worlds' waterways!

We sometimes eat mussels and clams, especially on Wednesdays and Fridays, which are days of fasting and abstinence. But on those days it’s typically wild-caught salmon, scallops, or shrimp.

Your ilk are our hope. I can get no local paper to publish my letter to the editor:

Let us ask our California Assemblymembers and Senators to introduce and support a bill similar to Missouri HB 1169 which requires labeling and disclosure of any product that has any gene therapy qualities. Both of the following are now occurring in our food without our knowledge or consent: mRNA vaccines are now being added to our food, and the genes of our food are now being modified to make them mRNA vaccines. Where there is risk there must be choice, and Californians have the right to be protected by informed consent. That gene therapy vaccines are transmissible through food is well documented and indisputable. Gene therapy vaccines can viably integrate into human DNA, both somatic and germline. Any threat to our human genome is wholly intolerable and execrable. Naomi Wolf and Tom Renz have done a great service in bringing this dire matter to the public’s attention.

Your words are so generous and encouraging, John. I read your letter to the editor and loved it, but I think I have a fairly accurate idea about why no local paper will publish it (and I believe you probably know why as well). Have you seen the latest from Tom Renz about the 7,600 fake (as in, actually holding fake degrees in their respective medical fields) doctors and nurses and how this relates to the ever growing COVID scam-slash-scandal? I just came across it this morning via Telegram.

Every time I hear of some new corruption uncovered by the likes of the many warriors out there, I think that there's no way it could go any further, but today's news astonished me!

....hi Samantha, back again?!...late last night rather than sensibly indulge the sleep i needed i half watched/listened to a Max Igan video and he had this clip from a respected news site about what sounds like a concerning leak in the Pacific something like eighty miles off of the coast of Oregon. Noting that ur in the bay area (edit: actually thats substack's physical location i mistakenly implied as ur's) i accessed the clip on that news site and here it is ... https://youtu.be/o0QVvr_hLLo ... and here's his video https://www.bitchute.com/video/XBJVT2BgxFjQ/ . Hopefully it amounts to nothing however its potential in terms of causing an earthquake can hardly be lightly ignored. This may not even be on the media over there so i felt it important u ought to at least know. I'm in the land of the leprechaun, Eire and keeping America and u in my prayers!...🙏...

It’s definitely not on the media that I’ve seen, Gerry. We went to bed late last night too (no respect for the morning). Will watch this later today. Thank you!

Gluck, I like your blog and all, but why are you still using sugar and flour? Can't we all agree that whole foods like grass fed beef and fresh organic produce is the way to go? Processed food and inflammatory grains and sugar and vegetable seed oils are taboo. That's what makes you sick, not some weak virus. At least, the virus can't reproduce effectively in the absence of high glucose.

We keep sugar and wheat flour for things like cakes for kids’ birthdays, etc. ALL my other baking I use alternative flours like cassava, almond, and coconut. For sweeteners we use coconut sugar, agave nectar, etc.

Trying to grow my own food. And have a relationship with local farmers for meat. I am very concerned about getting food from the grocery store as we know this will not have to be put on a label before consumption. Good thought to share!

Hi Ken, thank you so much for reading! It’s very important to form those community relationships, so I think you’re doing the right thing. Also, consider canning and dehydrating food as well. We do other things as well that I haven’t written about here yet. These are things anyone can do...we’ve already had parties where we taught other couples how to do it. I’ll do my best to publish something about this soon. I’ll have to take photos for the post.

Again, thank so much for taking the time to comment!

About three years ago we bought a harvest right freeze dryer. It works amazing. I have only canned a couple of things. I know the most important part of doing both is trying to work into our everyday use. Thank you for creating!

I’ve read about those freeze dryers (IceAge Farmer). Great to hear from someone who actually has one. They’re pricey, but we’re willing to pay it if they work well and seem worth it. Thanks!

I think the push to use mRNA in animals for everything is a sign that they are not as successful with growing vaccine in plant foods. https://www.kcur.org/2023-06-23/bird-flu-vaccine-could-be-on-the-way

Yes I am concerned, but pray we get to leave here and move to our acreage out there before it all hits. We’ll grow A LOT at that point.

BTW, we’re buying tickets this weekend to fly out there sometime in June.

I agrée with most of what you say here, Nathan. We always buy our meat locally (meaning from places relatively easy to get to from our home -- 2hr drive or less). I avoid at all costs buying meat from the local grocery store, but, when I must, I only buy grass-fed, no hormones, no antibiotic beef and pork. Beef is KING in our house, but we also enjoy chicken, lamb, and pork.

I would love to have access to Amish goods! As far as WalMart goes, we stopped shopping there years ago, but occasionally go to buy a certain water softener (for laundry) that I can’t get anywhere else, except Amazon.

I’ve learned it’s very difficult to change people’s minds about where they shop and their buying habits. They have to learn for themselves.

Hi Phoenix-- I haven’t made kimchi yet, but a close friend of mine does and she’s going to teach me. We’re also interested in making kamboucha as well as other similar things.

So cool that you did this in South Korea!
